Item Description
Brianyoungite is a very rare zinc carbonate sulfate that was named after British geoloist, Brian Young in 1991. The type locality is the Brownley Hill Mine in Cumbria, England, and apparently the mineral is similar to Hydrozincite visually. This specimen is from a newly reported locality at Lavrion, Greece and features tiny white radial sprays on matrix. This is the only piece of this material that we have to offer, and comes with a classic label from Czech mineral specialist, Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
