Brazilianite with Quartz

Item Description

Rich and attractive 360-degree small cabinet mounded specimen of densely intergrown brazilianite crystals and crystal sections from the famous Type Locality - the Corrego Frio mine in Minas Gerais. A vug on the crest hosts classic, gemmy and lustrous, yellow-green, spearpoint-shaped prisms, to 2.1 cm. One side is nicely complemented with a 5.7 cm, glassy, lustrous, translucent, doubly terminated quartz crystal. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection No. 01300CL and acquired in 1985. Chet is a well-known New Jersey collector and has been a Board member and Vice President of the Franklin Mineral Museum. A very showy, rich and highly representative combination example of the species from the famed locale.
