Item Description
A superlative, gem to translucent, large single crystal of Brazilianite from finds decades ago at the type locality, the Corrego Frio pegmatite in Brazil. These top examples of their species came out in the 1940's from this location and never again. This toenail is competition-quality and is much gemmier and flashier in person and it is difficult to capture this in the photos. Very few Brazilianites, like this one, make a great toenail/thumbnail pieces as opposed to a merely representative one. It is a gemmy to translucent, gorgeous glowing yellow-green Brazilianite crystal with excellent monoclinic form. A choice toenail with exquisite color, gemminess and aesthetics. Complete most of the way around except the backside where it was contacted in the pegmatite pocket with Albite. Valued $1000-1500
