Brazilianite (doubly-terminated) on Albite

Please note that this specimen is listed as coming from "Mendes Pimentel, Minas Gerais, Brazil", but I strongly feel that it's actually from the Telírio Claim in Linópolis, based upon the habit, style and association. With that said, this is a fantastic display piece featuring a beautiful, lustrous, gemmy, yellow green color, doubly-terminated crystal of Brazilianite which is aesthetically flaring off a matrix of contrasting white Albite. There are several smaller accessory crystals of Brazilianite on the piece for a nice touch. The quality is excellent on this piece, as I can't find any major damage, and the only imperfections are a few spots where the Brazilianite had some interrupted growth due to the Albite. It's important to point out that the surface of the Brazilianite crystals are smooth and glossy, not at all "crazed" like many from this area. Priced at $3,000 retail. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#108 B), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
