Item Description

With its fine association of bladed Muscovite crystals, this fine, small-cabinet combination is from an iconic find of Brazilianite. Variegated and translucent, these finds were characterized by a greener color than the more yellow crystals that commonly come to mind, and the attached Muscovite. The largest crystal, which presents very well, is doubly-terminated and 5.2 cm tip-to-tip. The crystals are not perfect, but nonetheless are attractive and rare in form and size with such aesthetics. There is even an off-white inclusion that fluoresces a bright white, and adds much to the mineral interest of the piece. Brazilianites of this completeness, and aesthetics, get more uncommon every year, so I try to buy every good one I can lay hands on. Ref: The Mineralogical Record, V. 14, No. 4: 227-237. Valued 2500. From her number, this is an early Linópolis piece from the 1970s.
