Item Description
An attractive two piece set of Brazilianite crystals from an undisclosed locality in Linopolis. The crystals are notably elongated / prismatic in habit and not nearly as blocky as we're used to seeing for the species from Brazil. The smaller of the two crystals is arguably the better of the pair as it's doubly-terminated and nearly complete all the way around. The larger specimen has a few contacts, but it's thicker and gemmier. BOTH crystals have notably SHARP and LUSTROUS faces with excellent form. A great old time set of Brazilianites from the classic area in Brazil where they were first found. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7530 and 7531). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
