Item Description
Brazilianite is one of the most well-known phosphate species from Brazil. It was originally thought to be Chrysoberyl when it was first discovered in Brazil in the 1940s, but it was such a significant mineral discovery, that Dr. Fred Pough insisted that it be named after the entire country of Brazil. This piece is an older specimen dating back a few decades and features a few sharp, well-formed, lustrous, translucent, yellow-green crystals, with minor attached Albite. Good quality, and fairly showy for the material. The largest Brazilianite measures 2.3 cm
