Item Description

Very rich matrix specimen of lustrous wedge-shaped Braunite-II crystals that range up to an amazing 2.2 cm in length. Most of the crystals are smooth with fine skeletal features along the smaller side faces. The luster on the smooth faces is very high, and many of the Braunites are well-terminated. There are very distinct, attractive veins of sparkling little Andradites that wind their way on andf through some of the Braunites, as well. Add in some octahedral Hausmannites that range up to 1 cm on edge, and you have an excellent combination specimen that is an aesthetic and superb example of this very rare species (noted as Braunite-II in the literature now according to the experts, to distinguish it crystallographically from Braunite crystals from other locales. this material is very interesting!). valued $750-1000
