Brandtite (very rare)

Brandtite is a very rare hydrated calcium manganese arsenate species, only found in about 20 places in the world. The specimens from the Sterling Mine are sought after by Franklin collectors, especially these days, since very little is ever offered on the market. This particular specimen is an impressive hefty cabinet piece comprising black Franklinite and white Willemite which plays host to beautiful, thin, acicular, white prisms of Brandtite. The Brandtites are small (typically less than 1 mm), but they a gorgeous when viewed under magnification. If you're a rarities collector, or if you're looking for a nice cabinet Brandtite to add to your Franklin collection, look no further, as this one is a great example that would fit beautifully into any collection.
