Item Description

Brackebuschite is a very rare Pb-Mn-Fe vanadate and this obscure mine is the Type Locality. It was discovered in 1880 and named after a prominent Argentine mineralogist. The brackebuschite is in clusters of almost acicular, very minute crystals found in vugs on both sides of the piece. The top of the front is covered with glassy brown descloizite crystals. This is a VERY RARE combination old-timer, as one of the two old labels possibly predates the naming of the species. Ex Manley and Duke University Colections.
