Bournonite with Pyrite on Quartz

If you look around, you'll notice that it's difficult to find showy display quality matrix specimens of Bournonite from any world locality. The now famed Machacamarca area in Bolivia has been a source of some really good quality Bournonite since the early 2000s. Without question, this area has pumped out a good number of attractive larger specimens of Bournonite in the last couple decades, with some particular fine matrix pieces to boot. This piece features a sharp, well-formed, metallic, steel-grey tabular Bournonite crystal measuring 2.3 cm across, aesthetically perched atop micro grey Quartz crystal matrix with a little dusting of metallic golden Pyrite. A smaller secondary Bournonite can be seen lower on the specimen for a nice touch. There is a rough edge on the side of the main Bournonite crystal, so the piece is not damage free, but it's still very showy and it sits beautifully on its own without the aid of a base or clay! If you've always wanted a nice matrix display specimen of Bournonite from Bolivia, for a good price, don't pass this one up. If the piece were damage-free, I would value it in the $1,500 range, but it obviously has to be less because of the damage.
