Item Description
There was a find of this relatively rare copper sulfosalt last year at Machacamarca, and this piece is definitely one of the more attractive specimens to come out in this size range. This piece hosts a few lovely, sharp, silvery-grey color, tabular "cogwheel"-esque crystals with a soft luster which are sitting on micro grey Quartz matrix The most important aspect of the piece is that the two main crystals are twinned, creating an 2.5 cm, eye-catching "heart"-shaped form. This is an attractive specimen (especially for this mine), and displays very well from several angles. There was only one pocket from this mine that produced these larger tabular Bournonite crystals, so don't miss out. From what I have been told, this mine is not producing these specimens at the moment, and the last time the Bournonites stopped coming out, it took three years for the miners to find more.
