Item Description
A great display specimen from Gard featuring classic, gun-metal color, sharp, eye-catching "cogwheel"-shaped groups of thick Bournonite crystals free of matrix. No damage on the display side and beautiful for the material. These are classics from the largest lead-zinc deposit in France, dating back to Roman times! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11624). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Valued at $750.
