Item Description
Bournonite is a classic and desirable species from this famous old mining district, and this is a very fine and showy large combination example. An impressive, 4.2 x 3.9 x 2.0 cm, cluster of intergrown, lustrous, metallic-gray "cogwheels" with light iridescence is the striking centerpiece. A dense carpet of sparkly rubyjack to metallic-gray sphalerite crystals covers the sculptural thin, layered matrix plate. Many of the sphalerites are also iridescent. The two tiny spots of bruising to the bournonites are noted, but certainly have only very minimal impact to the overall high quality of this large combination. Choice and desirable older combination material (at least several decades old) from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued at $1500-1750 and worth it.
