Bournonite on Quartz with Pyrite

We don't see nearly as many good Bournonites from Bolivia as we used to. Here we have an attractive Bournonite specimen from a find dating back to 2003 and it is one of the better miniature-sized specimens that we have offered in the auctions for a while. It features very attractive, sharp, metallic, lustrous, silvery-grey color, bladed Bournonite crystals, measuring up to 1.7 cm on edge, aesthetically sitting on a matrix composed of grey micro Quartz and sparkling metallic golden Pyrite. The piece is in excellent shape overall, and I can't find any major damage, though there are a few rough spots when you look closely. As mentioned, this specimen is from a discovery dating back 20 years at Machacamarca, and this particular pocket with the Quartz and Pyrite matrix is one of the best from this particular mine in my opinion.
