Bournonite on Quartz

Item Description

A fine and showy combination plate from the famous Yaogangxian Mine. A pristine, 2.0 x 2.0 cm, splendent, metallic-gray, bournonite crystal is jauntily set on a forest of quartz points. The sharply terminated crystal is classically striated and has a single "cogwheel". The termination faces the interior of the plate, with the periphery end being broken. The quartz crystals are included-with, dusted-with or accociated with sulfides. The back has been sawed to enhance the display quality. This excellent combination piece is highly representative of the species and locale.
