Item Description
This specimen was collected very recently (within the last few months). It hails from one of the most exciting Bolivian locality of the last 10 years. It hosts several attractive, sharp, tabular, metallic, lustrous, silvery-grey color, crystasl with good form and sharp faces. The largest Bournonite crystal measures 2.2 cm, and are intergrown with micro grey Quartz, plus minor Siderite and Tetrahedrite. The piece is very three-dimensional, and despite a little bit of roughness, is still in good shape for the material. It's a VERY showy piece compared to hundreds of mediocre specimens I have seen from this locality. For the quality, these new specimens have created a lot of excitement, so much so that one of the best pieces was featured on the cover of the March/April 2009 Issue of the Mineralogical Record! This specimen is from the same mine and is a good representative Bournonite from any locality, not just Machacamarca. Valued at $850.
