Item Description

A significant European bournonite combination specimen from Baia Sprie and the Howard Belsky Collection. Lustrous, sharp, bournonite cogwheels to 8 mm are scattered among melted-look galena cuboctahedrons, golden chalcopyrite crystals and grayish-black sphalerites. The fine, 2.4 cm label with the accurate analytical analysis on the back says Ordana, Romania (unknown locale) and that there is jamesonite on the piece. We could not definitively identify this species on the specimen. This is an excellent bournonite and very rich and showy ore specimen from this famed locale.
