Item Description

This is a fine matrix specimen from one of the ancient mines in the Horhausen district, which is considered the most important of the continental European Bournonite localities. The largest crystal is tabular and 1.8 cm across. It is highly lustrous, and exhibits the beginning of cyclic twinning. The more prismatic Bournonites reach 9 mm in length, and all the crystals have excellent metallic luster. An old-time specimen (probably from late 1800s-early 1900s), it was formerly in the collection of Robert C. Lambert. Better in person. From the noted historic classics collection of Richard 'Dick' Hauck of New Jersey. Small crystals, but sharp and from a great old locality
