Item Description

One of the few doubly-terminated "cogwheel" specimens of Bournonite that I have offered from Bolivia in the auctions for a while. This piece features a thick, attractive, metallic, silvery-grey color, "cogwheel"-shaped crystal group that is doubly-terminated, and nearly crystallized all the way around. The piece is highlighted by soft golden color metallic Pyrite at the base. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye, just some interrupted growth on the underside, but it's still partially crystallized down there. This specimen is from a find in 2003 in Bolivia. This one is better than the majority I've handled from Machacamarca, and it's incredibly hard to get your hands on a fine quality THUMBNAIL of this material with such well defined "cogs" like this. We had this piece priced at $500 in the inventory.
