Item Description

We don't have a lot of Bournonites from Bolivia in the auctions as we used to, and this is one of the few "cogwheel" specimens of Bournonite that we have offered for a while. It features many attractive, sharp, metallic, lustrous, silvery-grey color, "cogwheel"-shaped twinned crystal groups measuring up to 1.0 cm across aesthetically sprinkled over micro black Sphalerite matrix. The piece is in excellent shape overall, as I can only see few spots of damage. This specimen is from a recent find in 2019 in Bolivia, and stands out as one of the better discoveries of this material in recent years. My favorite aspect of the piece is the fact that the "cogwheels" are distinctive, and not tightly intergrown into an undiscernible mass. If you're a fan of sulfosalts, metallic minerals or simply Bolivian material, don't miss out on this attractive display specimen of these beloved "cogwheel" Bournonites. Valued at $800.
