Item Description

A beautiful and aesthetic thumbnail of the elusive material from the Noche Buena Mine in Mexico. The piece hosts a sharp, lustrous, silvery colored, metallic prismatic "cogwheel" of Bournonite measuring 1.3 cm long sitting beautifully atop golden Pyrite matrix. A slight coating of drusy off-white Quartz on the Bournonite makes for a nice touch at the end. Fairly good condition overall, though there are a few small contacts on the front faces of the Bournonite. Very hard to find on the market, and a great combo piece to add to a sulfide / sulfosalt suite or a Mexican mineral collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9171). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
