Item Description

One of the better "cogwheel" specimens of Bournonite that I have offered from Bolivia in the auctions for a while. This piece is an attractive, sharp, metallic, silvery-grey color, multiple "cogwheel"-shaped crystal group with minor associated Quartz and Sphalerite. This specimen is from a find in 2008 in Bolivia, with the exception of a small area on the bottom, is in GREAT shape overall from the standpoint of damage. It's nearly a "floater" as well, as there is only one tiny point of attachment. This one is much better than the majority I've handled from Machacamarca. Comparatively, the Bolivian Bournonite "cogwheels" are priced significantly lower than their contemporary Chinese counterparts, and a piece like this from Machacamarca is very difficult to find. Valued at $600.
