Item Description
Classic, sharp, dark metallic-gray bournonite cogwheels, to 1.8 cm, are richly embedded in the large mounded sculptural matrix with a scattering on tiny rubyjack sphalerite crystals on this impressive and excellent large specimen from this ancient and classic French district, known since Roman times. Bournonite specimens are well-known from this mine and this is a rich, large and highly representative example of species and locale. The mines closed in 1993.
