Item Description

This is a showy and rarely seen example of Boulangerite included in Calcite from the famed Trepča Complex in the former Yugoslavia. This small cabinet-sized piece is nearly a complete "floater", as it's crystallized on all sides, but there are few small points of attachment, so it's not 100% pristine all the way around. With that said, the vast majority of the crystals are pristine, and you can see there are dozens if not hundreds of little well-formed rhombs measuring up to about 6 mm across, that are intergrown into semi-spherical aggregates, which have a dark grey-black color from Boulangerite inclusions. There is a small amount of fibrous/acicular Boulangerite that can be seen on the surface for a nice touch. A really attractive and hard to find display piece that would make a nice addition to any worldwide Calcite suite or a collection of mineral associations.
