Boulangerite included in Calcite

Item Description

An attractive and fairly rare example of Boulangerite included in Calcite from Trepca. The piece is essentially a complete "floater", as it's crystallized on all sides, with no damage I can find, nor any real point of attachment. There are dozens if not hundreds of little compressed rhombs measuring up to about 7 mm across, that are intergrown into semi-spherical aggregates, which have a dark grey-black color from acicular Boulangerite inclusions. There is a small amount of fibrous/acicular Boulangerite that can be seen on the surface for a nice touch. A really attractive and hard to find display piece that would make a nice addition to any worldwide Calcite suite or a collection of mineral associations.
