Boulangerite included in Calcite

Item Description

A rarely seen example of Boulangerite included in Calcite from Trepca. The piece is nearly a complete "floater", as it's crystallized on all sides, but there are few small points of attachment, so it's not 100% pristine all the way around. With that said, the vast majority of the crystals are pristine, and you can see there are dozens if not hundreds of little compressed rhombs measuring up to about 5 mm across, that are intergrown into semi-spherical aggregates, which have a dark grey-black color from Boulangerite inclusions. There is a small amount of fibrous/acicular Boulangerite that can be seen on the surface for a nice touch. A really attractive and hard to find display piece that would make a nice addition to any worldwide Calcite suite or a collection of mineral associations.
