Item Description
A 1.2 cm, pretty blue-green cluster of spherical aggregates of bottinoite blades is aesthetically set on the side of this fine combination miniature from this well-known ancient lead and zinc mine. Bottinoite is a very rare nickel antimony hydroxide that is found in less than 10 localities in the world. The mounded matrix of mostly dolomite rhombs includes patches of metallic ullmanite, a Ni-Sb sulfosalt, scattered quartz crystals with a sprinkling of tiny marcasites being a fine accent. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12379 and acquired as a gift from Scott Williams in the early 1990s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record) and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Specimens of this combination quality and richness from here are RARE.
