Botryoidal Pyrite w/ Calcite & Dolomite (Dr. B. Phillips Coll.)

Item Description

Ball-like clusters of intergrown pyrite crystals cover all sides of this unusual, sculptural, 3-dimensional combination specimen from the famous Sweetwater Mine. The brassy botryoids are dramatically accented with scattered glassy, elongated nailhead calcite crystals. The well-placed large calcite is 3.0 cm long. One side of the piece has tiny lustrous dolomite rhombs, adding more character and color to this artistic and uncommon pyrite style combination from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
