Item Description
Nubby, rounded, intergrown malachite botryoids form a sculptural and aesthetic upright solid crust from famed Concepcion del Oro. MINDAT lists two Aranzazu mines for Concepcion del Oro, one AKA the well-known El Cobre Mine. The other Aranzazu Mine is much more obscure and specimens from here are RARE. The Tom Wolfe Collection label with the piece, suggests this showy, excellent and rare malachite is from the Aranzazu Mine, Aranzazu, rather than the Aranzazu Mine (El Cobre Mine) in Concepcion del Oro. Malachite from the El Cobre Mine is also uncommon. VERY RARE malachite from the 1970s or 80s from this obscure mine.
