Item Description

Intergrown, shimmering chatoyant dark green velvet malachite botryoids form an aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet from this well-known extinct skarn-type copper-molybdenum deposit. The impressive, dominating large botryoid is 4.8 cm across. Artisanal mining by locals has recovered more fine specimens. The 2.8 cm broken botryoid on one side reveals the striking radial growth and multi-hued green hues of the acicular primary malachite crystals, adding much character. Very nearly pristine, with only trivial scuffing. A fine, showy and highly representative example of the species and well-known locale.
