Striking and beautifully luminous low-relief nubby, bubbly gray hematite botryoids cover the hefty and rich banded rust-brown iron ore matrix on this fine, rare and rich example from a recent 2017 find at this obscure iron and manganese mine in Hunan Province. Mineral specimens of any type are uncommon from here and botyroidal hematite is rare from any Chinese locale. A fine example of the species and locale.
