Splendent, metallic, gray-black bubbly hematite botryoids cover the hefty and rich banded rust-brown iron ore matrix on this fine, rare and rich example. Botyroidal hematite is RARE from any Chinese locale and this striking plate is from a NEW 2017 find at this obscure iron and manganese mine in Hunan Province. Mineral specimens of any type are RARE from here. It reminds me of classic botryoidal hematite from England, the USA or Morocco, but it's from China! Beautiful and rare hematite from a new Chinese find.
