Item Description
Botryoidal fluorites are rare from anywhere, so these translucent purple botrydoidal specimens have been a big hit since they first came out a few years ago. This large, striking, sculptural two-sided rib is very uncommon from a small New Find. The color is a pretty lilac and it glows, when backlit. Both sides look like clusters of grapes having a frosting on them. The surface is typically purple, but in this case, the fluorite turned back to white in the last stages of growth, as the pocket solution changed and the ions responsible for the purple color were no longer present. So, it is white in some areas and purple in others. This particular piece is in excellent shape in the front, with only periphery wear on the right edge. The periphery wear on the back reveals the layering of the fluorite. Very showy and most excellent large material from this new find.
