Item Description

A striking and distinctively different and dramatically sculptural two-sided rib from this recent find, that really shocked the mineral collecting world, because botryoidal fluorites are rare worldwide. And these had intensely rich PURPLE (lavender) color (which had rarely been seen before). A fabulous ribbon courses across one side and frames edges on this surreal side. A thin layer of tinted iron oxide on the narrow quartz interior makes the very light lavender botryoids have a yellow tint. The other side hosts the bubbly, botryoidal translucent fluorite, that glows a luscious lavender under good light. The noted periphery wear on the base and sides are noted, but have minimal impact to the overall excellent and artistic quality of this specimen. This piece looks great from either side. High quality fluorite of the rare species and find.
