Botryoidal Fluorite

This find of a couple of years ago really shocked the mineral collecting world, because botryoidal fluorites are rare, and here you have an intensely grape-purple one (which had rarely been seen before). This bubbly, botryoidal LARGE CABINET plate has great form and the very sparkly moderately translucent botryoids have a nice glow when backlit. There is a preferential dusting of a gray material on one side of all the botryoids, which gives the piece a nifty shadowy look. The matrix is banded multi-hued fluorite. Essentially pristine, with only trivial periphery wear. Very highly representative of the rare species and find.
