Item Description
Botryogen is a rare magnesium iron sulfate, and is rarely seen in crystal form. The specimens from the Santa Elena Mine in Argentina are some of the best in the world. This piece features well-formed, translucent, rich orange-red color crystals of Botryogen associated with Copiapite, Butlerite and Parabutlerite on matrix. The fact that the Botryogen is crystallized is what makes the piece special, and the added rare associated species is just icing on the cake. This is the only specimen of the material that we have to offer in the auctions right now, and comes with a label from the collection of Wouter Van Tichelen, and from the dealer stock of Brian Kosnar. Valued $800.
