Item Description

A very hard to find piece from the Queténa Mine in Chuquicamata District of Chile featuring dark orange-red colored Botryogen associated with light turquoise blue colored patches of the copper sulfate Chalcanthite, sitting atop tan colored Metahohmannite matrix. Minor white Epsomite and tiny orange-red crystals of Natrojarosite are listed on the label, though it appears that neither species has been reported from the mine, at least according to the locality entry on mindat.org. Still a cool rarity, virtually impossible to find on the market.
Ex John Dagenais specimen #JD-742
