Item Description

A classic specimen of the beautiful orange Botryogens from the Libiola Mine. Sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich orange colored crystals of this magnesium iron sulfate sit atop typical matrix. Beautiful to view up close and a super example of this classic material that hasn't been available on the market in 50+ years. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7700). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
