Rounded, melted-look, charcoal-gray bornite crystals are aesthetically accented with glassy quartz points and a cluster of pyrite crystals on end on this very fine and classic combination specimen from the famous mines at Butte. The bornite crystals reach a large for the locale, 1.3 cm. The stepped-face quartz crystal cluster really accentuates this excellent old-timer from the Dennis Mullane Collection. The modest termination wear to the large quartz point and the broken quartz crystals on the periphery are certainly trivial detractions to this sculptural combination miniature.
