Item Description

I've only seen a handful of these pieces over the years, and this one would make a worthwhile addition to any collection of worldwide sulfides, association specimens or minerals from Germany. This piece hosts small but distinct iridescent blue-green Bornite crystals which measure about 1-2 mm sitting on attractive, greenish-brown colored, "curved" or "saddle-shaped" Dolomite rhombs on host rock matrix. According to the collection catalogue entry for this specimen, there is a very minor coating of Chalcopyrite on select areas of the Dolomite crystals. Best seen under magnification, but make no mistake, these are lovely little Bornite crystals from a locality that closed permanently in 1990.
