Item Description

The Boracite specimens from Alto Chapare are well-known for their attractive crystal forms and rarely seen colors. This piece is a rarely seen specimen featuring soft peach-pink colored crystals measuring up to 1.1 cm. Additionally you can see some smaller pale blue and nearly white crystals on the specimens as well. Most often the Boracites from this locality are some shade of blue, and to find pink is rather rare in my experience. It's not terribly common to find these crystals on matrix, as most of the time they "pop" off, so you only find them as loose single.  Lastly, there is a fairly strong fluorescence on the pink Boracites, but the others don't seem to show much fluorescence at all.    Most people are familiar with the "blue" Danburites from this locality, but the other staple species found here is Boracite. If you collect rare/interesting mineral species, or if you're a fan of Bolivian minerals, don't miss out on this one as it's a good quality display specimen of a species that is not often found in attractive pieces like this.
