Boracite

Here we have a very nice representative Boracite specimen from a new find a few months ago in Bolivia. While these specimens are not a new find per se, they are new specimens from a well known locality. Most people are familiar with the "blue" Danburites from this locality, but the other staple species found here is Boracite. This piece features well formed, sharp, light blue color cubes of this hard to find species on matrix. The largest crystal measures 7 mm on edge. There were only a handful of crystals from the entire find that were on matrix. A good display specimen of a species that is not often found in attractive pieces.
