Bone Carving, Wolf

Item Description

Recently we picked up mixed parcel of gem and lapidary material from a source in Indonesia, and this beautiful carving was in the mix. It is a lovely and detailed carving of a wolf's head, and we're told that it was carved from either cow or water buffalo bone/horn. You have to admire such a great work of art considering that somebody was attentive enough to put all the little details into the piece. The carving has a small sterling silver bale attached at the top, so it can easily be worn with a chain or cord.
