Boleite on Anglesite

Item Description

A razor-sharp crystal of the rare silver species boleite, from the original finds of the late 1800s (we know this because it was in the collection before Larson and Swoboda rediscovered the old location and collected more in the 1970s). Also, the matrix is hard rock anglesite, noted in the early discoveries here but later very rare in the few subsequent finds at the locality over the century since. This is an exquisite specimen, featuring a sharp 5 x 5 x 5 mm crystal. From the award-winning thumbnail collection of Sharon and William Panczner, author of the book Minerals Of Mexico, and last seen and exhibited in the 1960s and recently rediscovered.
