Item Description
Five Boleite crystals are aesthetically scattered on the sculptural, large matrix of stabilized gray/green/tan clay on this showy and excellent specimen from the famous and classic Type Locality. The two well-placed, sharp, lustrous, indigo-blue cubes on the crest are both 6 mm on edge. The two adjacent crystals near the center are also both 6 mm on edge. This significant large specimen is from the 1970s mining efforts at the Amelia Mine by Ed Swoboda, well-known miner (famous Blue Cap Tourmaline pocket) and collector. See the 1998 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 29, No. 1. Valued at $1500. Classic, highly representative large matrix material from the renowned locale. Please note, all such matrix specimens were stabilized at the time (usually with a dilution of elmer's glue), as the matrix is fragile.
