Item Description
Boggsite is an EXTREMELY RARE Zeolite Group species and Neer Road is the Type Locality. There are only two known localities for the species, the other being in Antarctica (MINDAT)! The red arrow points toward a 1 mm vesicle hosting a tiny sharp, snow-white ball of boggsite in the poorly vesicular basalt matrix. This rarity was collected in the 1970s or 80s from this well-known zeolite producing locale. Ex Dr. Vasco Trancoso Collection and illustrated in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the species and locale.
