Blue Spinel

Most people don't realize that Spinel comes in a great range of colors. While I think a lot of people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful blue Spinel from Tanzania with a medium hue and a slightly metallic quality, that is often seen in Spinels. The gem is virtually eye clean and has a traditional "Oval Brilliant" cut. This is a good quality Spinel with very pleasing color. Most of the Spinels we've had from Tanzania are some shade of pink or red, so blue stones are certainly not common in our experience.
