Blue Halite

Item Description

Striking large section of a halite cube with a contacted, beveled-like corner from this well-known large underground New Mexico potash mine. Most of the crystal appears to be an opaque very dark blue or purple with beautiful blue highlights on edges and a water-clear colorless sylvite section at a corner under normal lighting. Backlighting reveals the true glory of the crystal - stunning sections of translucent electric-blue color.
