Item Description
Bloedite is a rare hydrated sodium magnesium sulfate found in oceanic and lacustrine salt deposits and in nitrate deposits in arid regions. This is a superb large thumbnail / toenail example of the rare species. This crystal features sharp, well-formed faces and has excellent internal gemminess on the outer edges with a dark gray nearly opaque interior. The piece is in great shape, with only one small contact near the base where it was detached from the matrix. Excellent material from the famous Soda Lake of California.
